Surf Abu Dhabi runs on Kelly Slater Wave Co. (KSWC) — a hydrofoil system from Los Angeles. A submerged hydrofoil sled is pulled down a track at roughly 18 mph. The moving foil displaces water, and a precisely contoured lake bottom shapes that displacement into a rifling, section-linking barrel that runs the full length of the pool. Because each pass is one giant wave, the pool produces ~15 waves an hour — the lowest volume of any tech, and the longest, most perfect ride.
Opened October 2024 on Hudayriyat Island as the second Kelly Slater Wave Co. facility and the largest wave pool ever built. Modarco (Modon Holding) partnered with KSWC to construct a 700 m lagoon that produces the longest chlorinated barrel in existence. Hosted the second stop of the 2025 WSL Championship Tour — a full CT event in the desert.
60-minute beginner sessions start at USD $490. 90-minute intermediate and advanced sessions start at $953. All equipment included; only four surfers per session.
Yes — at 700 m of ridable wave length and 3+ m face heights, it's the largest and longest man-made wave in operation.
