Bahrain Surf Park is at Bilaj Al Jazayer waterfront, Southern Governorate, Bahrain.
The technology
Bahrain Surf Park runs on Wavegarden Cove — a electro-mechanical system from Aizarnazabal. The Cove uses 46+ independent electro-mechanical modules along one wall. Each module pushes a submerged panel; sequencing the pushes creates a travelling swell that peels down the reef bay. Software controls the panel firing pattern, so a Cove can shift from a mellow Waikiki roller to an overhead barrel between waves.
Announced in partnership with Wavegarden and Bahraini developer Bilaj Al Jazayer, this Cove replaces the previous Al Jazayer beachfront with a full surf park, resort, F and B and residential mix. It gives the Gulf a Cove counterpart to the region's Kelly Slater installation at Surf Abu Dhabi and is targeted to open in 2026.
