The technology
The Wave Fuerteventura runs on Wavegarden Cove, a electro-mechanical system from Aizarnazabal. The Cove uses 46+ independent electro-mechanical modules along one wall. Each module pushes a submerged panel; sequencing the pushes creates a travelling swell that peels down the reef bay. Software controls the panel firing pattern, so a Cove can shift from a mellow Waikiki roller to an overhead barrel between waves.
Announced 2024 as a Wavegarden Cove destination alongside a resort on Fuerteventura's east coast. Part of a wider push to bring Cove tech to real surf destinations rather than city outskirts. As of September 2026 we could not confirm an operator, a project website, or any published pricing, so the status of this project is unconfirmed.
