The Wave Fuerteventura is at Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain.
The Wave Fuerteventura runs on Wavegarden Cove — a electro-mechanical system from Aizarnazabal. The Cove uses 46+ independent electro-mechanical modules along one wall. Each module pushes a submerged panel; sequencing the pushes creates a travelling swell that peels down the reef bay. Software controls the panel firing pattern, so a Cove can shift from a mellow Waikiki roller to an overhead barrel between waves.
Announced 2024 as a Wavegarden Cove destination alongside a resort on Fuerteventura's east coast. Part of a wider push to bring Cove tech to real surf destinations rather than city outskirts. Opening targeted for late 2026.
Wavegarden and its Canary-Islands partners have targeted a late-2026 opening. Dates have not been confirmed publicly.
