Wave Park is at Siheung, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.
Wave Park runs on Wavegarden Cove, a electro-mechanical system from Aizarnazabal. The Cove uses 46+ independent electro-mechanical modules along one wall. Each module pushes a submerged panel; sequencing the pushes creates a travelling swell that peels down the reef bay. Software controls the panel firing pattern, so a Cove can shift from a mellow Waikiki roller to an overhead barrel between waves.
Wave Park opened in 2020 on the coast at Siheung, inside the greater Seoul metro area, and is billed as Asia's largest surf park. The Wavegarden Cove sits in a wider marine leisure complex with beaches, diving and water sports, serving a metro population of more than 25 million people.
Sessions start around $50 per hour, among the cheapest Wavegarden Cove sessions in the world.
Wave Park is in Siheung on the coast southwest of Seoul, roughly an hour from central Seoul by car or transit.
Korean winters are cold, but the park operates seasonally with wetsuits. Check the venue for the current operating calendar.
No openings listed at Wave Park today. Surf parks hire coaches, lifeguards, wave operators, and hospitality staff in seasonal waves, so it is worth checking the board again.
