DSRT Surf is at Adjacent to Desert Willow Golf Resort, Palm Desert, California, USA.
DSRT Surf runs on Wavegarden Cove — a electro-mechanical system from Aizarnazabal. The Cove uses 46+ independent electro-mechanical modules along one wall. Each module pushes a submerged panel; sequencing the pushes creates a travelling swell that peels down the reef bay. Software controls the panel firing pattern, so a Cove can shift from a mellow Waikiki roller to an overhead barrel between waves.
Developed by Beach Street Development on land adjacent to the City of Palm Desert's Desert Willow Golf Resort, DSRT Surf broke ground in 2023. The project pairs a full Wavegarden Cove reef bay with a Trilogy resort hotel, villas, restaurants and a pro shop, targeting an early summer 2026 opening.
Up to 70 surfers can share the Cove in a single session, with capacity scaled across the day to hit up to 1,200 sessions.
Yes. The Cove is the anchor of a resort with a 139-room hotel and 57 villas, so you can walk from your room to the reef bay.
