URBNSURF Sydney Passes One Million Waves

The Sydney Olympic Park Cove crosses a milestone: one million rideable waves delivered, in under 30 months of public operation.

URBNSURF Sydney passed the one-millionth-wave mark this month, less than 30 months after opening at Sydney Olympic Park. That's roughly 1,100 rideable waves a day, every day, since day one — a throughput number that puts a Cove pool inside the top ten most-surfed "waves" on earth.

  • ~Two peak sessions on Saturday sell out roughly 6 weeks in advance.
  • ~Beginner lessons make up ~55% of the schedule but only ~35% of the revenue.
  • ~The pool has hosted three WSL Longboard Tour events at the Point setting.
  • ~Members ride twice as often as non-members and drive 60% of off-peak volume.
