O2 SURFTOWN MUC opened its Endless Surf pool in October 2025 — a WhiteWater West pneumatic pool tuned to 40+ settings, ten minutes from Munich's ring road. Nine months and one alpine winter later, the operations team shared its first-year data. Most of it was surprising.
Winter didn't slow anything down
The pool is heated to 24°C year-round. January bookings actually ran ahead of October's, driven by weekend traffic from Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Zurich — surfers with ski passes who wanted a different Sunday. The team credits the covered viewing deck and hot tubs; nobody wanted to stand around wet in a Bavarian February.
The setting menu that actually got booked
- ~"Malibu" (waist-high, mellow reform) — 41% of all bookings. Beginners and families dominated.
- ~"Waimea Bay" (chest-high left) — 22%. Intermediate go-to.
- ~"Trestles" (overhead right, air section) — 18%. Advanced-only sessions sold out fastest.
- ~The remaining 40 settings split the last 19% between them.
