Alaïa Bay — the Wavegarden Cove in Sion, Switzerland — closed its second full season with numbers that reset a few assumptions about alpine wave pools.
What actually happened in year two
- ~Water heated to 22°C from May–October. Suit-up time dropped 40% versus season one.
- ~Two-week pro block in November — CT and CS surfers used the Cove as a pre-season training camp.
- ~Beginner sessions outsold advanced sessions 2:1. Cove tourism is a family draw, not a pilgrimage.
- ~Ski-and-surf combo tickets with Verbier sold out every weekend from December to March.
