Ocean Kamp — the redevelopment of a former Royal Dutch Navy shipyard in Den Helder — confirmed a Q2 2027 opening for its Wavegarden Cove. It's the first commercial wave pool in the Netherlands, and the first Cove within a two-hour drive of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, or Brussels.

What's around the pool

  • ~220 residential units, half rental and half for sale, ringing the lagoon.
  • ~A 140-room hotel with a rooftop bar overlooking the Cove.
  • ~A 900-slip marina and full beach frontage on the North Sea.
  • ~Free shuttle to Den Helder station — 75 minutes to Amsterdam Central by train.
